A chance to respond

Jesus offers us complete forgiveness and life to the full as a free gift with nothing to repay. Will you accept his gift and re-orientate your life to obeying God instead of rebelling against him?

If you would like to accept this gift, you could talk to God now – where you are and just as you are. Perhaps you could use a prayer like this one:

(There is nothing special about these words – you can just talk to God as you normally talk)

Dear God,

I recognise that I need your forgiveness for the way I have lived my life. I am sorry for not living with you as my top priority. Please forgive me.

Thank you for helping me understand why Jesus died and rose again. I don't understand everything about what he came to do but I do know enough to say that my heart is deeply touched.

I want to turn away from my life without you to one where you matter the most.

Please come and live within me by your Holy Spirit so I can honour you in all that I do.

Thank you for hearing my prayer.

Amen.

What now?

Talk to someone

If you have prayed that prayer, or if you want to find out more about Jesus or what it means to be a Christian, it would be a good idea to talk to someone.

If possible, talk to the person who introduced you to this site or to another Christian you know.

There are many Christians at Nottingham University. Anyone in the Christian Union (CU) would be more than happy to talk with you and answer any questions you might have. If you are living in hall, there will be a CU group meeting there.

You can contact a Christian at Nottingham, find out details of events the CU runs to tell people about Jesus, discover information about local churches which teach the Bible, and encounter more about Jesus on the website;
